Feast the Senses: This Sunday, Sept. 3, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., enjoy the Viking Village Art Show in Barnegat Light. Peruse a huge selection from over 70 vendors of fine arts, photography, ceramics, wood crafts, clothing, handmade jewelry and accessories.

Admission is free, parking is plentiful, and the show goes on rain or shine. Find treasures, catch up with friends and explore the docks and shops while visiting the commercial fishing village.

Hall of ‘Fam’: This weekend is the last chance to view the Member Student Faculty Exhibition at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences in Loveladies, closing Sept. 4.

The show was juried by Kelly Whalen, chair of the art and design department at the County College of Morris, and winners were announced Friday, Aug 25. Awards for “outstanding achievement” were bestowed on Fred Ballet, Randi Berkeley, Lee Collins, Brunella DeMarco, Peggi Einhorn, Sally Eisenberg, ZeeJay Greenspan, Toby Meyer, Guna Mundheim, Tyler Nussbaum, Donna Ransome, Harris Ross, Ardeth Schuyler, Anna Simmons and Jules Slotnick.

The annual exhibition “showcases the talents and accomplishments of the LBIF family,” according to the organization, and “demonstrates the excitement and love of the arts that LBIF has been known for during its 75-year history.”

Oh Kay: The Ocean County Library’s Berkeley branch presents “Majestic Nature and Landscapes,” a photography exhibit by Barnegat High School student Kaylee McGrath and Red Rose Kay Photography and Multimedia, throughout the month of September.

Meet the artist during a reception Thursday, Sept. 21 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. All are welcome.

McGrath studied multimedia arts and business technologies at Ocean County Vocational-Technical School, under the New Jersey Board of Education’s Super Senior Program.

The exhibit features flowers and tranquil moments, reflecting the artist’s fascination with landscapes and nature. She achieves modern imaging and traditional styles of portraiture using a full-frame mirrorless camera and mobile photography techniques.

McGrath’s photography is regarded as calming and therapeutic, while providing an honest look at life and nature. She displays her portfolio on her website, redrosekayphoto-multimedia.com, and @_red.rose.kay_ on Instagram.

Call for Entry: The New Jersey Council on the Arts has announced a call for New Jersey artists to submit completed, two-dimensional, still artworks in a digital format for digital display in Newark Liberty International Airport’s new digital exhibition in the recently completed Terminal A, “The Art of New Jersey 2024.” Artists may submit up to three artworks for consideration. Application deadline is Sept. 12. Selected artists will be notified no later than Dec. 30; the project opening is scheduled for winter-spring 2024.

“The overall goal of the project is to highlight the broad spectrum of talent, opportunity, and cultures that make the Garden State so vibrant,” according to the arts council.

The project is open to New Jersey artists and artist teams who are at least 18 years of age and legally able to complete a contract with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and/or their contracted management for the terminal. Priority consideration will be given to artists who reside in Newark or Elizabeth, where the airport is located.

Art All Ways: At Pine Shores Art Association’s Tuckerton Art Center, on display through Sept. 8 is the Tuckerton Artists’ Choice Exhibit, showcasing two- and three-dimensional work. This month at the Manahawkin gallery is the “Photography Show.” Pine Shores work on display in the Tuckerton Borough Fine Arts Gallery is a summer-themed show on display through September.

Ceramic Saturdays in Tuckerton take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with ceramics expert Mary-Kate Fogel on hand to guide and answer questions. Children are welcome, too. Once the creations are bone dry, come to a “Do Your Own Thing (DYOT)” session to glaze it. Then it will be fired and clear-glazed and ready to pick up at the next Ceramic Saturday.

A clay fee is determined by weight and dimensions of finished pieces. Kiln restrictions may limit size; pay for clay used. Bring cash for both fees.

The public is invited to PSAA’s Art Chat, an open-format gathering on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Tuckerton Branch of the Ocean County Library, where artists in many mediums and of all skill levels bring projects to share with the group. The next one is Sept. 5.

Draw From Life: Figure study sessions with a live, undraped model take place at Stafford Township Historical Society headquarters, the historic church located at 120 North Main St. in Manahawkin, on the first and third Sundays of each month, 10 a.m. to noon. No formal instruction is offered. Artists of all skill levels are welcome. Bring keen eyes and art supplies to float the creative boat. Drop in for $12. Upcoming sessions are Sept. 3 with model Amberlee and Sept. 17 with AJ.
